New Delhi, march 14: The largest pro-independence organisation of the exile Tibetan community, the Tibetan Youth Congress, organized a series of protest activities from March 10 in the Indian capital in support of the 4 Tibetan hunger strikers outside the European parliament in Brussels.
50 members of the organization symbolising fifty years of struggle for Tibetan independence wrote an appeal letter with their blood to the European Parliament asking it to pass a new resolution to mark 50 years of Tibetan struggle. The event was held to mark a year since the uprising last year in Tibet on March 14 that later spread across the Tibetan plateau.
“We will not stop till we didn’t regain our independence.” said Tenzin Ngodup, who was among those who wrote the appeal with blood.
Around 100 Burmese Kuki students’ democratic front marched in support of the Tibetan struggle, and also against the proposed plan to build Tamanthi Dam and multipurpose Project.
Addressing the gathering, Choudan, the Burmese student leader said, “we are deeply saddened by what is happening in Tibet, that is why we show our solidarity with the Tibetan freedom movement. We want free Tibet to be freed from Chinese occupation.”
