Dharamshala: The Planning Commission of the exile Tibetan government said the three-day demographic survey it conducted on April 12 might have missed out “quite a few Tibetans owing to a highly mobile and scattered nature of residences of many Tibetans.” The commission said, “Keeping in view of that situation, we are providing a special consideration for enumeration of those who could not be available on those three days.”
Dr. Kunchok Tsundue, Chief Planning Officer said, “the preliminary reports from the settlements suggest that the Survey has been a success and it is all due to the hard work of the settlement officers and the thousands of enumerators on the field.” He added that the Tibetan people all over have also co-operated well with this effort of the CTA.
Keeping in view of the importance of this Survey and in order to make sure that the survey covers as many Tibetans in exile as possible, the office of the Planning Commission is requesting to register themselves before 5PM, 30th May, 2009 at 1) South Zone Office, Bangalore. or 2) Tibetan Welfare Office, Delhi or 3) Planning Commission, Dharamshala or 4) Tibetan welfare office, Lazimpat Nepal. A notice to this effect has already been sent to all the settlement offices.
