Barcelona, Spain, Feb. 4 – Kasur Tashi Wangdi, the new Representative for Western Europe and EU, met with the Tibetan community of Barcelona at the Casa del Tibet on February 1.
The Tibetans holding Identity Certificate (Indian travel document for Tibetans) sought help from the Representative for renewal of their travel document which, according to the Indian embassy in Spain, is required to be renewed only in India. He assured the Tibetans of all possible help from the Tibetan government in the matter. Kasur Wangdi also spoke on the exile Tibetan government’s policy of middle way.
Mr. Wangdi was earlier in Madrid for the inauguration of an exhibition on the Dalai Lama called “the missing peace”, organized by Foundation Canal. Accompanying Kasur Wangdi was Ven. Thupten Wangchen of Casa del Tibet. Kasur Tenzin Namgyal Tethong who is associated with “missing peace” was also present at the inauguration.
Mr. Wangdi and Ven Thupten Wangchen attended the 20th anniversary of foundation SABINA HARANA in on the invitation of the regional government of Bilbao in northern Spain. The foundation annually honours various organizations and societies around the world with an award. In 1997 this award was given to exile Tibetan government for its policy of non-violence and peace.
Mr. Wangdi succeeds Jampel Chosang who is now the secretary (administration) of the department of security of the exile Tibetan government in Dharamsala.
