DHARAMSHALA, April 10: Netizens say that a playful banter between Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama and a young Indian boy during a public event on February 28 in Dharmshala, does not warrant international backlash and public outcry.
The office of the octogenarian leader on Monday released a statement that said, “His Holiness wishes to apologize to the boy and his family, as well as his many friends across the world, for the hurt his words may have caused”.
The office also stated that “His Holiness often teases people he meets in an innocent and playful way, even in public and before cameras,” adding, “He regrets the incident.”
Despite comments and sentiments on social media that say that the actions of H.H the Dalai Lama were inappropriate, there are sections on social media that also say that the incident is nothing more than a playful and an innocent banter.
Tibetan writer and activist Tenzin Tsundue wrote on his social media handle, “To the much sexualized world a kiss is seen only as sexual, but to the 86 YO celebate @DalaiLama it’s a genuine expression of unattached love. Tibetan family members often kiss each other. H.H. is playful with kids, men in beard, hats; women in burkha. How do you cover up your on you sins by mudslinging a saint? We all know our dirt. Look inside.”
A netizen Tsering Samdup wrote, “It is sad to see the world judge a man who has been a beacon of peace and It is understandable that many people are so conditioned in a particular set of social thinking and also due to prolonged accumulation of garbage in their minds, they are in no position to see things differently than what they are conditioned to see. If any of you are considering yourself as students of His Holiness, this is also a form of teaching.”
In this mad world of mad people, the sane people are made to look like mad! The great Sakya Pandit Kunga Gyaltsen writes that in the land of Kanchi, people with two legs are not regarded as humans! It seems that in that land people know only one legged people. ཀཱ་ཅི་ལུང་པའི་ཡུལ་ན་ནི་ རྐང་གཉིས་པ་ལ་མི་འཛིན་ The Dalai Lama is the most serene person on this planet! A perfect monk with pure Shila (morality) like the white snow on the mountain tops. He is a Buddha of this day and age. Unfortunately, the beholders of this holiest of man saw him in their own image! They projected their evil intent and lecherous nature on him and projected all their trash and made it look like it was on the Dalai Lama! When we look in the mirror, our face appears just as it is. If it doesn’t look pretty, it’s not the fault of the mirror but it’s the fault of our own face! Likewise, the incident of 28th February that was painted in such dark light was in fact the evil that was residing in the dark recesses of the very people who projected it upon the Dalai Lama! All those who regurgitated all the filth that lies in their sick mind which they splattered upon the Dalai Lama were in fact the reflections of their sexually starved mind that reigns supreme in their sick mind and reflected it on the Dalai Lama who was only reciprocating the child’s request to hug him. In these degenerate times, even a father’s innocent kiss for his daughter is treated with suspicion demonstrate how low human morality has sunk! The Dalai Lama didn’t have the faintest of idea how his innocent gesture would be misinterpreted by the mentally warped human beasts whose physical features bear resemblance to human kind but in reality they are hormone oozing beasts who are driven by hate against anybody who doesn’t look through the same prism of their sex driven life of flesh and booze.
The little kid was apparently very inspired by the Dalai Lama and made an offering in front of him by breaking a coconut! This ritual is reserved for Gods in Indian culture! Whenever, the devotees go to see their Gods,they take a coconut and break it as an offering to their God.The kid did the same to the Dalai Lama!What was most surprising is that the offering was made by a little Indian kid warmed the cockles of the Dalai Lama! He was both surprised and touched by the child’s gesture. He wanted to reciprocate in kind and did what he had never done in his entire life! Giving him a long hug, a peck and to show his cheeky nature as always showed his tongue and said, “suck my tongue” to break the ice in the hushed room! It was all in the spur of the moment without any thought except to please the kid to the best of his ability! Unfortunately, five weeks after the event had taken place, some creepy evil minded people spurred by the easy money generously doled out by the Chinese communist Party with malicious intent manipulated and gave a bizarre twist that would suit their evil agenda and made a mountain out of a mole! It’s well known that the CCP is known to use propaganda as a means to achieve their goals. The Dalai Lama has been a thorn in the flesh of the CCP since Tibet was forcibly and illegally occupied by communist China. They have slandered him for the last seven decades in the most vicious way imaginable and this one will not be the last. The CCP has two reasons to tarnish the reputation of the Dalai Lama. The first one is, if the Dalai Lama is discredited, that in turn will discredit the Tibetan Freedom Movement. The Second reason is, if the Tibetan people lose their trust in the Dalai Lama by smearing him as they did until now, that will also have a devastating impact on the unity of the Tibetan’s and with it the very survival of the struggle. They have been disparaging the Dalai Lama at every opportunity but have failed and this one is also doomed to fail. Those Indians who may be doing a service to the CCP have to keep in my mind whether the money that the CCP hands out is worth selling your souls to the enemy. The late George Fernandez openly declared, Communist China as the number enemy of India and the Chinese have lived up to it by killing 20 Indian Jawans in the Galway valley in Eastern Ladakh. It is threatening India in Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh. Besides, the whole of the Himalayan region bordering Tibet are Tibetan Buddhists who follow the Dalai Lama. By instigating anti-Dalai Lama propaganda on behalf of communist China, it will only alienate the Buddhists across the Himalayas who are already up in arms against the blasphemous and sacrilegious garbage that was cooked up in the gutter media! The Chinese will always exploit such grievances to wean away people to their side. If the people who are spreading malicious propaganda against the Dalai Lama doesn’t feel concerned by such developments, do as you please but if you don’t want the people of Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh to be estranged, then perhaps, they should be mindful of digging dirt on the Dalai Lama. For fellow Tibetans, the word we all must remember that is stamped on our forehead is not only the “R” word but also “E” word. The “E” stands for ENEMY. Always remember our enemy is the CCP. The older generation always held it and have always showed only hatred and disdain. This is because they experienced the horror and terror of the CCP invasion and occupation of Tibet. However, those who are born in foreign lands have never experienced the cruelty and the oppression of the CCP. Coupled this with the naivety of our leaders who have forgotten the deceitfulness of the CCP, started to disregard the CCP as our enemy and instead made our own Tibetan nationalists enemy instead have caused immense disquiet among the die hard Rangzen advocates and brought the Tibetan Movement to its present predicament. They deserted the western support in order to curry favour from the enemy! Such delusional policy has resulted the west to turn its back on Tibet. After all it’s a matter of trust. The western support cannot be taken for granted!
Every Tibetan who love our country MUST KEEP IN THE DEPTHS OF THEIR HEART THAT THE CCP IS OUR MORTAL ENEMY. THE ONE WHO IS OUT TO DESTROY THE DALAI LAMA PHYSICALLY AND HIS STANDING IN THE WORLD. We must teach our children who our enemy is and NEVER RELENT TO THEIR MALEVOLENT MACHINATIONS BUT ALWAYS STAND GUARD AGAINST IT. The present sacrilege against our teacher, leader and protector is orchestrated by the CCP. If you feel hurt now, make a resolution that each one of you will hold the CCP responsible for bringing such pain and hurt by slandering the Dalai Lama beyond imagination without any basis whatsoever. Every Tibetan must pledge never to trust the evil CCP!

To my understanding it has got nothing to do with Western philosophy but we have to know who are behind all these Dramas. Media and almost all who escalated by editing the original video knew perfectly that His Holiness is pure and sincere. Yet why it was made huge issue after a month. Very simple either CCP paid major media carried out their task as they are committed to the regime or interested groups who always seek opportunity from His Holiness to defame him because Buddhism is reviving and reaching far end of the world.
People who are making different or rubbish comments, they are mostly either part of the interested groups or innocents who take it seriously without knowing the fact.
We should not worry rather look it into positive. Now almost all 8 billion people knew Dalai Lama and once their anger cool down, they have the opportunity to learn more about the truth. At least few millions will definitely seek truth out of dense mud. That is our victory over CCP propaganda.
I know the world is filled with many allegations and false charges. It hurts a lot when our soul protector, a person who is everything to me, is put to the test with these false allegations. Our ancestors have suffered a lot; they strive to get through the rough water because they see the light and hope in His Holiness’s smile. There are no words to express what HH has done for the world; for Tibetans, he has sailed the ship through rough water and brought us to a place where there is hope, happiness, and most importantly, a place from which we can fight for justice and truth. It hurts a lot when his office issues an apology and the world sees him through eyes where the camera catches every ‘awkward’ moment. What the world fails to see is the inner quality or intention of HH. It is a public gathering, and there are cameras all over, and a child asks for a hug. The sheer openness, genuine love for every individual, and sense of humor didn’t go ‘well’ with opportunistic people who got this chance to wreak havoc. We Tibetans are good at responding to social media; now is the time to come out and speak out.
I wish Shri Narendra Modi will also revise university arts courses syllables too and ban teaching of western philosophers including Plato, Aristotle, Arthur Schopenhauer, Federick Nitzche, psychologists including Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung , etc.
Now time has come to celebrate oriental minds. Buddha is the biggest philosopher, writer, psychologist, diplomat, thinker, of all time. Time has come to celebrate the pearls of wisdom originated from Nalanda University in Bihar, and close the chapter on Oxford University and Harvard university ideas.
There’s nothing to gain for Indians and Asians from copying western ideas. West is in decline, helped by depraved and perverted interest in anything sexual or sex and money. The west sees all human to human touching from the lens of sexual abuse.
Time for Indian media to stop being a slave. 200 years sounds enough. Now time for a new beginning. Imitating white people is not a sign of education or modernity, it is a sign of being a victim of brainwash and denying it.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama is neither a closet pedophile nor a homosexual interested in boys. These sexual deviations do not exist in Tibetan community. These ideas are western imports.
His Holiness need not apologize. Instead,media should apologize for baseless allegations that hurt the sentiment of millions of Buddhists.
A torch cannot criticize the sun. The blazing light of HH Dalai Lama reaches in all directions. It isn’t one track mind with sex in the mind all the time.
Sticking tongue out is to prove a person isn’t a reincarnation of king Lang Dharma Or the Demon Bull King in 9th century who was known for militarisation of the then hitherto spiritual culture for fear of invasion by Manchu Chinese. Indian media should be ashamed of affectatious adoption of values of Christian West when they are culturally Hindus. This is caused by education system India has adopted since the British Raj under Lord McCauley. Now Narendra Modi ji should consider an overhaul if the whole Indian education system and stop teaching white authors like Shakesphere, Dickens, Virginia Woolf, Kafkas, Jack Kerouac etc. India should celebrate their own authors such as Kalidas, etc. That way, Indian people won’t turn into coconuts out of inferior complex and the veneration of western culture by low self esteem Indian must stop. This is cultural invasion and slavery by an act of volunteering.
Media must stop maligning Dalai Lama who is singlehandedly put Dharamsala on the world map, and only HH Dalai Lama can keep the Dharamsala economy running including upgrade of Gaggal airport to an International Airport with direct flight to London and new York, which will happen if HH decides to live for 113 years. The secret and profound gift of Dalai Lama is hard to see by ordinary people with low vision.
The real issue is at stake – urgent and existential crisis – is the cultural genocide and total lack of freedom inside Tibet. Let’s all highlight these issues while you all talk about Kundun’s innocent act, which he had apologized. CCP and its sympathizers are definitely seizing this opportunity to further misrepresent and damage the reputation of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Let’s change the narrative and shine the spotlight on the urgent issues such as Chinese colonial boarding schools and the lack of freedom inside Tibet. CCP will learn the lesson that playing their social media disinformation campaigns is a double edged sword. To all those folks who have been tweeting and commenting on this innocent act of His Holiness must know and make themselves aware of the brutality of the Chinese government and especially the cruelty towards innocent children inside Tibet. The issue of Tibetan children should not br discriminated against even as they are powerless and voiceless. Let’s all be their voice!
Yes just an old man teasing a boy with a pure heart. Nothing sexual about it. I saw what it was and I’m a westerner so I also understand the paradigm many westerners veiw life through. Much respect for Buddhists.
If a Tibetan boy gets such a kiss from HHDL, the parents would literally be flying in the sky with the highest of joy. Even placing His palm on the head is considered highly blessed.
But the sensual world only knows a sensual thing, too conventional!

Okay thank you this is what I was looking for. Abused people project hurt and that is okay as a ptsd and cptsd diagnosis… but one must also learn to separate sexual abuse from love. I watched live and was confused, but I was reminded of my 84yo grandma being silly, disinhibited, even a little childish, like this as well. I hope the world continues to heal and focus on topics which need attention such as human trafficking if you really need to fill your spirit with negativity and despair… Otherwise finding meaning, protecting the earth and all its inhabitants, leaving behind the truth that we lived our lives peacefully and happy. This is the only way. We move on; don’t carry the heavy stuff with you, to spoil the innocent moments.
