DHARAMSHALA, Sept. 19: Exiled Tibetan leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama on Thursday flew from the Gaggal airport here to the Indian capital where he will be giving public talks and engaging with followers in Delhi and nearby Mathura city until September 26.
His office said that the 84-year-old will address over 2300 students from 50 schools on “Educating the Heart and Mind” at the Shri Ram School in New Delhi on Friday. On 21 September, His Holiness will interact with a group of scholars, intellectuals and government officials at Taj Man Singh hotel. From 22 to 23 September, His Holiness will visit Sri Udasin Karhni Ashram in Mathura city. On 25 September, His Holiness will speak at an interreligious event at the Harijan Sevak Sangh, Gandhi Ashram.
He will return back to Dharamshala on September 26.
Last week, the Tibetan leader whose health took a dip months ago, assured that he is well and healthy during a long life prayer ceremony dedicated to him by Tibetans. During the ceremony, the Dalai Lama said that he was confident of living past the age of at least 100 years.
He was briefly hospitalized in Max Hospital, Delhi in April this year for a chest infection that caused the Tibetans and well-wishers around the world to worry about his wellbeing.
The Tibetan leader has said that he is unable to commute long distance flights to North America and Europe due to age related physical constraints. Tibetans and followers have urged the aging leader to take rest and curb his schedule for his health
