DHARAMSHALA, Dec 12: The President of the exile Tibetan government Sikyong Penpa Tsering delivered a poignant statement during the commemorative event to celebrate the 34th anniversary of the Nobel Peace Prize conferment on His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama on Sunday, highlighting the ongoing conflicts, such as the devastating situation in the Middle East and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, as grave global concerns.

“The simultaneous celebration of the Nobel Peace Prize Day and International Human Rights Day on 10th December reflect humanity’s common aspiration for the realisation of peace and human rights across the world. However, this aspiration is becoming more distant from us. There is no end in sight to the ongoing devastation in the Middle East conflict and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, among other violent conflicts are a matter of grave global concern,” he said.

Sikyong Penpa Tsering also reiterated His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s stance concerning the ongoing conflicts worldwide, notably highlighting the situation between Palestine and Israel in Gaza and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The Tibetan leader reiterated His Holiness’s profound concern over these conflicts and emphasised the imperative need for non-violence in resolving global disputes. “His Holiness the Dalai Lama said the conflict between Palestine and Israel in Gaza is unimaginable and expressed deep concern over why such sort of violence takes place among those people who claim to hold religious principles,” he remarked.

Both the Kashag and the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile underscored the global implications of Beijing’s actions in Tibet. The statements issued by Kashag and TPiE condemned Beijing’s deliberate and vigorous attempts to erase the Tibetan identity. The PRC’s policies, such as enforcing Chinese nationalism, imposing strict regulations on monasteries through so-called “Democratic Management Committees,” and suppressing the Tibetan language, are all seen as systematic methods to undermine Tibetan cultural heritage.

The statements highlighted Beijing’s efforts towards Sinicisation, portraying it as a pretext for inter-ethnic integration. The use of “Xizang” instead of “Tibet” in official documents was deemed as an intentional move to erase Tibet from the global map and collective memory, thereby attempting to establish the PRC’s unverified claims over the region.

  1. Israeli military aggression in Gaza is a genocide pure and simple! The shocking murder of twenty thousand innocent civilians among which ten thousand are children is beyond belief in this day and age. This shocking blood bath has shown that people like Netanyahu, Adolf Hitler and Mao are reincarnations of the same person. The Jewish people have suffered Holocaust at the hands of Adolf Hitler but today the descendent of the Holocaust are committing another Holocaust on another people!!! The regime in Tel Aviv has dropped bombs to the equivalent of the bombs that were dropped by the Americans on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It has turned Gaza, the most densely populated place on earth to rubble in a ruthless killing spree that is now running into the second month. The ferocity and ruthlessness of such mass murder is wiping out entire families in a split second by the falling bombs from Israeli death squads in the skies! 10,000 children have lost their limbs and have become amputees! They are using white phosphorous which is banned by the international community. Thousands have been orphaned with their parents, brothers, sisters buried under the rubble of concrete slabs by 2500 ton bombs and bunker busters. Gaza is a waste land filled with corpses and the stench of death. Children and babies are dug up by bare hands from debris of the razed buildings with their mutilated bodies and torn torsos. Mothers are wailing for their children while children are crying for their dead parents in a human tragedy of epic proportion. Netanyahu has sought to starve the Gaza population by denying them food, water, electricity and fuel. Hospitals and schools are attacked under the accusation of allegedly hiding Hamas fighters lurking within the precincts of the hospitals and doctors are attacked and even killed by the Israeli military personnel. Babies are left to die as the incubators have stopped working since Netanyahu stopped electricity to run the machines. The most astounding of all is the great self-styled America is both funding and giving the most lethal weapons of mass destruction to send the people of Gaza to their horrific deaths. I have regarded America as a force for good for the world despite its weaknesses. America has flaunted its supposed morality above all other nations and gave lectures to them on human rights and international rules. However, it has become complicit with the most brazen rule breaker of all time. Today, it has dragged America to the depths of moral decay! How sad, America was the only one to oppose cease fire in the United Nations General Assembly! It is isolated like Netanyahu himself and President Biden has in all likely-hood buried his hope of Presidency in 2024 under the rubble of Gaza unless he brings concrete remedy to the suffering of the Palestinian people! The ICC (International Criminal Court) has its work cut out for them. If the ICC doesn’t arrest Netanyahu and his associates and try them for crimes against humanity, the ICC has lost all its credibility. It must try Netanyahu like it did Slobodan Milosevic and other criminals from the Balkans and Africa. The international community expect and demand that perpetrators of genocide are tried and punished to prevent such horrific incidences happening again!
