DHARAMSHALA, July 5: Tibetan leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama expressed his aspiration to live beyond 130 years, just a day before his 90th birthday, during an address at the Long Life Prayer (Tenshug) ceremony offered by the Cabinet of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA). The ceremony took place at the Main Tibetan Temple in Dharamshala on Saturday.
Speaking to a gathering that included CTA officials, Tibetan community members, and Indian dignitaries such as Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, and MP Tapir Gao, His Holiness said, “So today here we have gods, representatives of gods, and human beings gathering the auspicious conditions for my long life and offering your prayers sincerely.”
Reflecting on his lifelong devotion to Avalokiteshvara, the Dalai Lama shared that even as a child, he felt a deep and unmistakable spiritual bond with the bodhisattva of compassion. “So far, I believe I have served the Buddha Dharma and the Tibetan people quite well,” he said, adding, “I hope to live for another 30 or 40 years — even over 130.”
Recalling historical encounters, he spoke of meeting both Mao Zedong, who dismissed religion as “poison,” and India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. He noted that despite their contrasting views, he held compassion for all. “People have different mental dispositions and interests, and according to that, we must find ways to bring happiness and reduce suffering,” he said, emphasizing the universal pursuit of happiness, whether religious or not.
His Holiness spoke of the collective karma of the Tibetan people and their continued devotion to Avalokiteshvara despite being in exile. “Though we are separated from our homeland, deep in my heart I have never wavered in my faith,” he said. He credited his enduring strength and purpose to the blessings of Avalokiteshvara, whoM he visualizes daily upon waking.
The Tibetan spiritual leader called upon the audience to maintain single-pointed faith and generate the altruistic mind of bodhichitta — the essence of Dharma to fulfill the welfare of self and others. “I trust in the blessings of Avalokiteshvara. You should, too. That’s all. Thank you,” he concluded.
Today’s Long Life Prayer ceremony was characterized by the practice of Buddha Amitayus, the Buddha of Longevity or Boundless Life, in contrast to the traditional Tenshug offerings, which are typically centered around the visualization of White Tara. The ceremony was led and presided over by His Eminence Sakya Gongma Trichen Rinpoche, accompanied by Tibetan religious leaders and representatives from the major spiritual traditions of Tibet.

HE UNIFIED TIBET UNDER HIS TUTELAGE. Coming back to the reincarnation of HH The Dalai Lama, the evil CCP regime is hellbent to highjack the undisputed leader of the Tibetan people in order to snuff out the Tibetan independence Movement! Whether it’s the Israelis or Chinese communists, they know that in order to throw a movement in disarray, they liquidate the leader! The Chinese communists send at least two or three assailants from occupied Tibet in the guise of Tibetan refugees in the last sixty six years! Fortunately, the Indian intelligence in conjunction with the Tibetan Government’s secret service (Desung Lhankhang), have nabbed all of them before they could do any harm! At least two of them were PLA trained Tibetans who sneaked through Nepal with the help of Nepali security apparatus. The Dalai Lama once announced to the international press that he had information that the CCP was sending “devotees” especially women who were assailants with tainted scarfs that were to be offered to him! This is a tactic the Israelis applied to kill Yasser Arafat by lacing his hat with poison! The CCP was also after a strand of hair of the Dalai Lama which points to the CCP’s evil design to con the Dalai Lama if possible! So, the devilish CCP has been doing everything to assassinate and con the Dalai Lama in order to fulfil its Machiavellian mission to maintain political power over occupied Tibet. It is now trying to highjack the Tibetan independence Movement by kidnapping the Dalai Lama’s reincarnation by the most dubious means! Its claims are baseless and are fabricated in order to suit its political agenda. The responsibility of finding every Dalai Lama since its inception has been none other than the GANDEN PHODRANG INSTITUTION which was founded by the 5th Dalai Lama Ngawang Lobsang Gyatso! This has been the SOLE INSTITUTION that was responsible throughout the history of the Dalai Lamas and will remain so until the end of time! NO ONE, INCLUDING THE TIBETAN GOVERNMENT HAS ANY RIGHT TO OVERRIDE OR DISMISS THE AUTHORITY OF GANDEN PHODRANG INSTITUTION LEAST OF ALL THE EVIL INFIDEL CCP regime! THIS IS A HISTORICAL FACT AND NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO OVERRIDE THE AUTHORITY OF THE GANDEN PHODRANG TO THIS DAY AND AGE. So, the CCP’s spurious claims and concoctions are nothing but a blasphemous act in total disregard of the Dalai Lama and his institution and an act of desperation to decapitate the Tibetan People’s political and religious leadership which firmly rests in the Dalai Lama. The infidel regime, which doesn’t allow the Dalai Lamas photo to be treasured by Tibetan faithful in occupied Tibet has NO RIGHT WHATSOEVER TO HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE DALAI LAMA’S REINCARNATION SINCE THEY DON’T BELIEVE IN THE CONCEPT OF REBIRTH IN THE FIRST PLACE!
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju’s statement is most welcome but the Indian Government’s response has been discouraging! After communist China used the borrowed knife strategy to ward off Indian retaliation against Pakistan, it is incomprehensible that India’s response to the reincarnation issue has been so muted! Pandit Nehru’s cozying up to the CCP regime brought the Chinese communist at India’s door! It is now a monumental headache for India as the Chinese are gradually salami slicing Indian territory like a volcanic lava rolling down the hill!!! If India doesn’t stand up for the Dalai Lama’s reincarnation, it bodes extreme danger to the whole of the Himalayan Buddhist region which might come under Chinese influence as the Chinese will use their candidate aggressively with splash of cash to buy the allegiance to their dummy candidate! By learning the unforgivable mistakes Indian leaders made in the 1950s, it’s time India has put some spine in its policy towards the Dalai Lama for the national security of India if nothing else.
