DHARAMSHALA, Apr. 20: Exiled Tibetan leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama has expressed sympathy and concern for the former PM of India Manmohan Singh on Tuesday after the latter tested positive for Covid-19.
“I pray that you will make a swift recovery. As you know, I have enormous respect for you and count you as an old friend. I hope we may see an early end to challenges the Coronavirus pandemic poses as it threatens every nation across the world,” the Tibetan leader was quoted saying in a statement released by his office this morning.
The Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha was admitted to the Trauma Centre of Delhi’s AIIMS on Monday, according to news agency ANI. The veteran Congress leader has developed mild symptoms including fever.
Sources said he was shifted to hospital as “a matter of precaution” as he is a diabetic and a heart patient. He has undergone two bypass surgeries. The 88-year-old has received his two vaccine doses of Covaxin, according to sources.
Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Tuesday said former Prime Minister is in a stable condition. “Followed up on Dr Manmohan Singh Ji’s health with the medical team attending to him at AIIMS, Delhi. His condition is stable. Best possible care is being provided to him. We all pray for his quick recovery,” Harsh Vardhan tweeted.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were among the many who wished Manmohan Singh a speedy recovery.

If Dr.Manmohan Singh pulls through,which I wish he could, the recovery will a great encouragement to Covid-19 patients.
Can Dr.Manmohan Singh, the former PM of India , pull through? If he does, it would be a miracle considering his age and the kind of medical conditions he has and despite of 2 doses of covaxin vaccine he had received.
Wish him good luck and he deserves it because he is very decent and wise man.
