At the invitation of the Film Club, National institute of Design (NID)Ahmedabad, Tibetan poet and activist Tenzin Tsundue today presented the documentary film “The Sun Behind the Clouds: Tibet’s Struggle for Freedom” by Ritu Sarin and Tenzing at the campus on March 15, 2010.

While introducing “The Sun Behind the Clouds” Tsundue said: “The film not only tells the story of the 60 years of the Tibetan struggle, but explores deeper in the inner landscapes of the struggles”.

After the film screening while answering question Tenzin Tsundue said: “Looking at China’s seemingly monolithic economic and military power, many people can’t imagine a free Tibet, even some Tibetans also carry that fear. China is a big country with huge population, therefore China must have big economy. Our struggle is not against China; our problem is with Chinese occupation of Tibet. Like Tibet, under China there are other occupied countries like East Turkestan, Inner Mongolia and Manchuria. They also demand independence, and what about the
millions of Chinese farmers and workers who are made to work for 14 hours a day with with no labour rights. Labour Unions are non existent in China. The problem of Tibet is a larger complex issues China is facing. This communist dictatorship just cannot go on. There is no future to this.”

“This change for a free China is already happening, and the Chinese
communist dictators must go, he added.
