New Delhi, June 16 – As a mark of solidarity with the loss of innocent lives in the recent unrest in Tibet and in accordance with observing the 49th year of struggle of the Tibetan people in exile, ‘Mudrel Tibetan Music’ under the Delhi Tibetan Solidarity Committee performs non stop for 49 hours at Jantar Mantar from June 16, 10 am to June 18, 11 am. Four Tibetan musicians will perform at a stretch without any rest until Wednesday.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama has been working hard for the mutually beneficial and agreeable solution to the issue of Tibet. On the contrary, Chinese leadership has been following repressive policy to tighten its grip over Tibet that led to the present crisis where more than 200 Tibetans were killed and tens of hundreds were injured and imprisoned.

In view of the ongoing critical situation inside Tibet, ‘Mudrel Tibetan Music’ appeals Chinese leadership to adopt the following points:

1. To immediately receive an independent international fact-finding mission into Tibet
2. To allow unfettered access to free press in whole of Tibet
3. To end the brutal killings in the whole of Tibet
4. To immediately release all the arrested and imprisoned Tibetans
5. To extend immediate medical assistance to those injured Tibetans
6. To allow free movement of people and provide access to daily needs

The Delhi Tibetan Solidarity Committee has organized a relay hunger strike since March 14. Tibetan settlements from Northern India have been actively participating in this peaceful campaign at Jantar Mantar. The Delhi Tibetan settlement of Ladakh Buddhist Vihar has been camping at the venue since June 9 and members from Majnu Ka Tilla is expected to carry out a hunger strike drive for 15 days.
