47th 10 March observed in Meerut

March 10 – To commemorate 47th National Uprising Day, Antarashtrya Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Samiti headed by Shri Kulbhushan Bakshi who is also the National Co-Convener of the Core Group for Tibetan Cause, organized a seminar at Raghu Nath Girl’s Degree College Meerut.

More than 100 people mostly college students and local eminent persons attended the function.

Mr Penpa Tsering, Executive Director of TPPRC at Delhi was the chief guest of the function. Other eminent speakers included Dr N.K. Trikha, National Convener of Core Group for Tibetan Cause, Dr.D.K. Pal, Prof. Madhu Mittal and Dr Rastogi.

The ceremony commenced with the lighting of lamps by Chief guest followed by Indian and Tibetan National Anthem.

Shri K.B Bakshi ji spoke on the situation inside Tibet and its relation to India’s security while welcoming the guests.

Chitue Penpa la spoke on Policies of Tibetan Government in Exile and status of the on going Sino- Tibet Contacts and expressed his gratitude on behalf of Tibetan people for organizing such program to create awareness amongst Indian brothers and sisters.
He further stated , “ Possessing portraits of H.H the Dalai lama is still illegal inside Tibet and in this present critical period of Tibetan struggle, Tibet needs the authentic and genuine support of every Indian”.

Dr. N.K Trikha, in his valedictory speech spoke in length on the importance of the day.

Shrimati Madhu Mittal, principal of Raghunath Girl’s Degree College said, “It’s the duty of every Indian to Support this peaceful struggle.

India Tibet Coordination office distributed His Holiness 10 March statements among the participants.
