The Moscow Tibet Festival ends with a spectacular gala concert show in the over booked Svetlanousky Hall of 1500 people. In this biggest and the most modern hall in Moscow, the Gyumae monks from South India, began the concert with their famous chanting to sanctify the occasion.

The impressive Shanag Dance and colorful traditional dances from the Kalimpong Gangjong Doekar was followed by Loten Namling from Switzerland. He sang the traditional classical songs of Tibet known as Nangma Toeshes, Kham Klu and the Mila Repa Gurs. Yangchen and Jamyang, who are recent arrivals from Tibet sang Amdo nomadic songs. The show ended with an impressive Yak and Snow Lion dance. The concert gave the people of Moscow a wide range of rich Tibetan cultural taste, as one Muscovite puts it “the best concert in Moscow”.

The whole two week Festival was visited by more than 30,000 people. As usual the Chinese tried every means to hinder the festival but in vain. The festival has opened a new chapter in the Tibetan-Russian relations. Because of the huge success the organizers are already planning to hold a Tibetan Music Festival next summer.
