Tibetan Parliament expresses condolence over death of former joint secretary

Dharamsala, Jan 5: The Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile on Tuesday expressed condolence over the death of a former joint secretary of the parliamentary secretariat Mr Dashi Tamdin who died last month after prolonged illness.

"Tibetan Parliament in Exile mourns the demise of former Joint Secretary of the Tibetan Parliamentary Secretariat Mr. Dashi Tamdin due to prolonged illness on 21 December 2010, in New York," the Tibetan Parliament said in its condolence message.

"Mr Dashi Tamdin began his service in the Central Tibetan Administration from 1974 in the Department of Finance and since then he had served in various offices including Department of Security and Tibetan Parliamentary Secretariat. He took early retirement from civil service in 2003,” the message added.

Expressing “deep appreciation for the services” Tamdin had rendered “for the Tibetan cause,” the Standing Committee of the Tibetan Parliament offered condolence to his family and prayed for peace for the departed soul.
